Claire Tansey

Hi, I am Claire Tansey. I first picked up a pen to write in primary school when we (my classmates and I) were asked to write a poem about a member of our families - sadly this poem no longer exists. My love for writing, however, has developed through the years. When I was 12 I tried to start writing a novel, rather ambitious for a 12 year old but I thought I would give it a try and 12 years later this novel is still in the planning stages along with several others. In developing these novels, my love of writing poetry came into being. I wrote about the lives and emotions of my characters and combined these ideas with other sources of inspiration such as nature and mythology.

When I was asked to be the Secretary of City Voices I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. I am enjoying this role and I am looking forward to what the future of the group will hold for all of us.
